Patricia Scallon-Brown is an RN, BSN, NC-BC, and Certified Cannabis Nurse

“Hi, my name is Tricia Brown.  I earned my Nurse Coaching Board Certification. In 2023, I became a certified cannabis nurse through the Integrative Nurse Coach Academy. With 30 years of experience as both a charge and bedside nurse, I’ve gained deep insights into the inefficiencies of our current “sick care” model, which I believe does not truly support clients’ best interests. I own Centrus Health & Wellness, Inc., offering nurse coaching and cannabis consultations, and I continue to work part-time in a hospital, particularly in addiction medicine and mental health for the last three years.

When I discovered the endocannabinoid system (ECS) last year, it completely transformed my perspective. The ECS, our body’s 12th system, plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis, and cannabis can be a powerful supplement to help individuals meet their health goals, whether for healing or palliation. Cannabis is a plant, and like other whole foods, it contributes to better health. The more plant-based we are, the healthier we become.

My approach is holistic, aligned with functional and lifestyle medicine. I educate my clients about the ECS and teach them how to self-titrate their cannabis doses while also upregulating their ECS through lifestyle changes, including nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep. My goal is to empower clients with the tools they need to achieve sustainable health and balance.

I firmly believe that with the right education and support, cannabis can be an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. My clients trust that I source high-quality, medical-grade cannabis products that meet the highest standards in cannabis nursing.”

Molly Taylor, the Kush RN, is a trailblazing cannabis nurse, and the dynamic host of Conversations with Kush Podcast.  With over 25 years of nursing experience, Molly is now dedicating  her career to bridging the gap between conventional healthcare and holistic wellness through the use of cannabis as medicine. Her passion for cannabis medicine was ignited when she experienced its own transformative effects not only within herself, but in patients struggling with chronic pain, anxiety, and other debilitating conditions. Recognizing a profound need for education, advocacy, and the de-stigmatization of cannabis, she immersed herself in the latest cannabis research, and has become a vocal advocate for the plant and patients utilizing the plant.

“Conversations with Kush,” now a leading voice in the realm of cannabis education, was born out of Molly’s commitment to destigmatize cannabis as a legitimate ever evolving medical option. Each episode, Molly dives into the science, politics, industry, and most importantly the personal stories surrounding cannabis use, offering a compassionate and knowledgeable perspective that empowers listeners to make informed decisions about their health. Her podcast features interviews with top medical professionals, industry leaders, and patients who share their insights and experiences providing a well rounded and deeply human view of cannabis and its healing effects.

Molly’s empathetic approach and evidence-based advocacy is earning her a loyal following among patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers alike. She has been a speaker on several panels related to cannabis education, and hopes to earn a certification in cannabis nursing as that unfolds in the near future. Molly works tirelessly to dispel myths and information about cannabis through the podcast, and in her daily work and life.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Molly is a dedicated community activist, and looks forward to working with local organizations to improve access to medical cannabis and support legislative efforts for cannabis reform. Molly hopes that her unwavering dedication to patient care, education, and plant advocacy will inspire many, position her as a pivotal figure in the cannabis nursing field and a trusted voice in the ongoing dialogue about cannabis as a vital component of modern medicine and wellness.

My name is Jesse Christianson, and I have been a registered nurse since 2016. I recently earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice in Adult/Gerontology Primary Care from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2024. My passion for cannabinoid therapeutics has been central to my academic and professional journey, with each course project over the last three years reflecting my focus on cannabis as a therapeutic option.

My doctoral project, “Cannabis: Building Practice Competencies and Political Will for Safe and Therapeutic Use in Wisconsin,” spanned 18 months, and I had the privilege of delivering educational lectures across the state, including at the state capitol. This year, I was honored to speak for one hour at the 38th Annual Wisconsin Nurses Association APRN Pharmacology and Clinical Update conference.

I am an active member of the Association of Cannabinoid Specialists and the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, also having completed their comprehensive Medical Cannabis Course certificate programs. I also earned credits from the University of Wisconsin’s PharmD program after completing their Cannabinoids as Medicines course.

During my nursing career, I noticed concerns regarding certain medications, particularly their dosing and side effect profiles in specific populations. This motivated me to start my own consulting company and develop therapeutic edibles using carefully curated recipes. My goal is to help improve the quality of life for those who choose to incorporate cannabis into their therapeutic regimen.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my Rhodesian Ridgeback, La La, practicing kung fu, experimenting with new recipes, and diving into social media food trends—my latest favorite is the fruit roll-up and ice cream combo!
